Organize Everything with Lightweight Plastic Storage Cabinets

Unfortunately, mine is an all too common story. The moment I get organized is the moment I can no longer find what I need. Some things I have actually kept around. Others are gone forever. It doesn't have to be this way. In fact, after visiting a friend earlier this year, I discovered what I was missing. While explaining my dilemma and complaining about how it is the same year after year, he suggested I take a look at his basement and garage. I know I've seen the commercials but I just hadn't gotten around to actually checking into plastic storage cabinets. Sadly, I have to admit, he has more "junk" than I do. The difference is he knows where everything is.

If you are like me, or really anyone else, disorganization is a way of life. Either in my basement or garage I keep, literally, tons of "junk", as my friends call it. From full to half full bottles of bleach, cleaning solutions, paper towels, and even nuts and bolts, I have a treasure trove of junk. Of course, every year when I get spring fever I attack the situation with gusto and start tossing anything I think I will never need again. Well, it doesn't take long before I realize that nearly everything I get rid of, I need. Suddenly, I find myself wondering where that bottle of cleaner went; or I wonder what happened to those deck screws I know I have somewhere.

This year is the year of the basement. I've installed two full height plastic storage cabinets, one 64 drawer, and one locking bin in just one corner of my basement. Honestly, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the rest of the space. I have all my cleaning solutions locked up to keep the kids out of them. I was able to clear off my work bench of all the nuts and bolts and nick-knacks with the 64 drawer cabinet. Lastly, using the full height storage cabinet I am able to keep almost everything else up and off the floor.

Not only is my basement better organized, but I can actually reach everything without stumbling over other items. Thanks to my new plastic storage cabinets, I can find everything and haven't had to throw anything out. My only question now is, "What are all these extra keys to?" Next year, I attack the garage.
